3rd edition of Jupiter - Vadoren “New Talent Contest”
Semi-finals February 25, March 3 & 10 at the House of Jazz
Finals March 28 & 29, April 3, 4 & 5 at the Espace Dell’Arte  

Now in its third year, this contest spotlights up-and-coming Québec jazz artists.  The competition is open to musicians age 18 to 30.

This contest represents a great opportunity for up-and-coming musicians, one which could very well jump-start these young artists’ professional careers. The two previous contest winners, NDE and the Simon Legault Quartet, were each allowed to produce their own album, earning a spot in the Effendi catalogue next to such well-established artists as Michel Donato, François Bourassa, and Rémi Bolduc.

New feature of this 3rd edition: This year the public will be directly involved in the judging process.  By visiting the Jazz en Rafale website, fans will be allowed to rate semi-finalists’ and finalists’ performances.  The final tally will be added to the judge’s score in determining the winner.

Winners of the Jupiter - Vandoren “New Talent contest” will be revealed on Monday April 7 at 5 p.m. at the House of Jazz.
