Jazz Services

Jazz Services is a non-profit organisation dedicated to the dissemination of jazz in all its forms. It was established in April 2000 by Carole Therrien, Yves Léveillé and Alain Bédard.

Created with the goal of helping musicians gain greater notoriety and exposure, Jazz Services has been working to develop Québec jazz for fifteen years and counting. The organisation’s activities have helped many musicians achieve major career-boosting projects. Very few Québec organisations have devoted themselves to developing local jazz for national and international diffusion, and Jazz Services is one of those few. And if the organisation’s accomplishments over the past fifteen years have been modest ones, they are no less significant. Thanks to its expertise and tireless volunteer work, Jazz Services benefits musicians by providing efficient tools to increase their popularity via concerts, tours, and series such as Jazz en Rafale and Québec Jazz, thus playing an active role in the development of Canadian jazz.

Jazz en Rafale was created from the outset to allow artists from different backgrounds to come together to create and play together. Quebec artists will again during the 15th edition set precedents with musicians from other provinces in Canada, United States and Europe. Jazz en Rafale is also the contest over (10th in 2015). Effective and relevant to the emergence of Quebec artists Jazz instrument, the competition is a stepping stone for young musicians.
